Why can’t our current routing system import data from the field?
Routing systems are good for automating route planning using their own data, but they aren’t typically designed to manage data from other systems. GreenMile was built to bridge that gap, and features a direct interface with many major routing systems — Scientific Logistics, Roadnet, Descartes, Ortec, and Paragon, to name a few.
GreenMile merges the planned routes with the GPS data from telematics and mobile devices to deliver one view of both data streams. GreenMile is the “command center” for all of your plan vs. actual information so that you can make better transportation decisions.
How do customers benefit from the GreenMile technology?
Our customers use the GreenMile solution to monitor and improve fleet performance and route profitability. Some of the benefits of our system include:
Reduction in miles driven
Decrease out-of-route miles
Reduce excessive service time
Increase delivery accuracy
Increase fuel efficiency
Improve driver safety
Provide amazing levels of customer service.
Increase route profitability
How is plan versus actual data determined?
GreenMile fully integrates data from your current route planning software along with capturing real-time GPS data from handhelds, mobile devices, telematics, and OBCs — providing you with the relevant data and transportation analytics to make your routes more profitable.
Instantly compare plan performance to actual performance for any route, any driver, and any delivery stop. GreenMile provides real-time visibility into your delivery day, and automatically passes relevant data from the field back into the routing software, helping it “learn” so your plan becomes better over time.
Can I customize report views?
GreenMile makes it easier than ever to analyze your transportation data, providing dashboards, scorecards, and user-defined reports. GreenMile’s modern interface lets you see how you’re performing today and where you need to be tomorrow.
Because GreenMile isn’t a cookie-cutter solution, you can better monitor and measure the metrics that are vital to your business’s success, without being limited to the frustratingly static templates of some other dashboards.
What is SaaS?
SaaS (Software as a Service) is a method of software delivery that allows data to be accessed from any device with an Internet connection and web browser. In this web-based model, software vendors host and maintain the servers, databases and code of an application.
This is a significant departure from the on-premise software delivery model. Companies no longer have to invest in extensive hardware to host the software, and this allows them to outsource most of the IT responsibilities typically required to troubleshoot and maintain the software. The SaaS vendor takes care of it all!
Do I need to be concerned about my internet speed?
Our applications have been built with very light technologies, so network connection speed typically is not a problem for us, even with slower internet speeds. Our experience with customers having connectivity issues has been extremely rare. Still, we’ll be happy to make a few tests from your network to check everything out.
What happens if there are any connectivity issues?
One of the biggest benefits with a true SaaS model is the fact that it offers on-demand access from any internet-connected device whether inside or outside of your building. GreenMile utilizes the Amazon Cloud — one of the most trusted SaaS application service providers in the world — which guarantees 99.95% server uptime.
Is my data secure?
In truth, data security is independent of whether the server is sitting right next to you or in a different city. SaaS vendors are actually able to invest much more in security, backups, and maintenance than any small to medium enterprise. For this reason, a web-based system typically has more security measures in place than an on-premise system. GreenMile uses Amazon’s cloud, which has undergone stringent security procedures and SAS70 Type II audits that test the data center’s level of security.
What are your supported platforms?
GreenMile’s Mobility Platform enables your workforce to have instant access to route and customer information through mobile applications anywhere, anytime on any mobile device. GreenMile’s BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) strategy helps minimize your investment in mobile technology by supporting various mobile platforms.
